Massachusetts - Worcester Ban the Box Law

The City of Worcester has a Ban the Box law. The City and its vendors will not ask about your criminal history on City job applications. Background checks are only performed when mandated by law, or for positions of particular "sensitivity." Both the city and its vendors must apply the EEOC factors to conduct individualized assessments of job applicants, using a set of factors to consider an applicant's character and circumstances. If denied employment, you have the right to a copy of the report and to appeal the decision.
