New York - Dutchess County Ban the Box Law

Dutchess County has a Ban the Box Law that applies to jobs with county agencies (Resolution No. 199-2015). This law requires government agencies to wait to do a background check until after they have offered you a job. If a background check is required by the law, the agency can ask you about your criminal history earlier in the process. Private employers in Dutchess County can ask about your criminal history at any time.
